SECURITY
How we assure your security
We have adopted the following security policies to protect the personal information submitted to us by our customers. The following explains the measures we take to assure your security.
Scan Alert Hacker Safe: Everyday Scan Alert, one of the
internet's largest web security companies, conducts a thorough test
of ColdTuna to assure the site is hacker safe. ScanAlert's HACKER
SAFE certification is the only security scanning technology recognized
to meet both the U.S. government's benchmark FBI/SANS security test
and the security standards of all major credit card companies -
including Visa CISP and AIS, MasterCard SDP, American Express CID,
and Discover Card DISC security audits. Clicking the Hacker-Safe
logo will confirm the site is properly registered and a scan is
conducted on a daily basis. The last scan will be time stamped on
the logo.
SSL Protocol: Order
information that is submitted to us across the Internet is protected
via a Stronghold SSL (Secure Socket Layer) server during Ebay
and Web site checkout. The industry standard SSL Protocol performs
certain tasks to assure that the information you submit is not tampered
with while on route to the system that processes it. While
in SSL mode, data is encrypted. The Encryption process
prohibits anyone, who may have intercepted the transmission, from
decoding and therefore understanding the information sent from your
computer to our designated server. While in SSL mode, information
sent to a server is only decoded by that server. This process
also assures data integrity. Maintaining Data Integrity
means that the data received has not been changed or altered. The
SSL Protocol also provides Authentication by confirming that
your computer is transmitting to our designated server and not another
Web server assuming our identity. This is accomplished by the
use of a digital certificate.
Received Information: Order information is password protected once our designated servers safely receive it. Only those OPI employees who handle order processing or manage our Web site database have access to the appropriate passwords. These employees have been trained in regards to the duties required to honor and maintain our Privacy and Security polices. TOP

How browsers indicate secure mode
The browser you are using to view the Web may use a screen symbol to indicate that it is transmitting information in the secure mode (SSL) explained above. The ways by which a few of the most commonly used browsers indicate secure transmission are explained below:
Microsoft Internet Explorer: This browser uses a closed lock to indicate secure mode. Internet Explorer displays this symbol at the lower right side of the window. Netscape Navigator: The symbol used to indicate a secure transmission mode depends on the version of Netscape used. Version 2.0 and 3.0+ use a key at the lower left side of the browser window. A solid key indicates secure mode and a broken key indicates unsecured mode. Version 4.0+ uses a closed lock at the lower left side of the window to signify secure mode. An unclosed lock indicates unsecured mode. Later versions of Netscape use the same lock symbols to indicate secure/unsecure modes but are located at the lower right corner of the browser window. General Indicator: All browsers will change the 'http' part of the web address to 'https' to indicate that you are communicating with a secure server. TOP
